More details about Ryan's proposal:
We first met Emily in 2004 while filming her sister Francie's wedding and just loved working with their family. We saw Ryan & Emily again in 2006 while covering her twin sister Lauren's wedding. We knew then that it was only a matter of time before Ryan & Emily would be engaged, so we kept checking back to see if we could be there with hidden cameras on the special day to capture the proposal.
Ryan started the day off surprising Emily with Roses when she woke up and little notes leading her on a trail of more surprises, which included a visit to their new home construction site where her grandmother was waiting to take her to breakfast, a salon and spa, a restaurant where her other grandmother greeted her and a brand new dress for the occasion which she is wearing in this video. Along the way at these various sites, her sisters guided her and kept a secret how the day would end. We volunteered, but Ryan was a bit worried that our cameras would be noticed during the day and give away the surprise, so he allowed us to setup to capture the proposal itself.
Family had gathered at Emily's house awaiting the big moment. She was driven around to the side of the house and wearing heels, was led with her eyes closed down through her neighbor's backyard to avoid suspicion that she was at her own home. Emily's sisters kept checking to make sure her eyes were kept closed for the entire walk. When she opened her eyes, Ryan handed her a bouquet of roses and got down on one knee. Emily didn't hesitate, and quickly accepted Ryan's proposal with a "yes" and family celebrated this long awaited day.
Days later, planning started for their May 25, 2008 wedding. We can't wait to be there to capture Ryan & Emily's wedding day and are thankful to have been included in their wedding proposal.
